ANNUAL REPORT 2018-19

 

Right from the time when a child starts his/her academics, the dilemma of choosing the board for education becomes a prime concern for parents and CBSE is one of the most preferred boards in India. Understanding this need Maharaj decided to set up a new venture under Chhatrapati Shahu Vidyalaya a CBSE school was started on 1st June 2011.

Our Vidyalaya has always remained a center for a great member of activities at school, cluster, regional and national levels providing opportunities and exposure for children to a wide variety of invaluable learning experiences. 

Teachers work together in various training sessions to align their curriculum and understand continuous comprehensive evaluation i.e  CCE.

At present there are 1385 students on roll with 76 teachers, 3 administrative staff and 14 supporting staff.

Coming to Academic achievements

In the CBSE board results for the year 2017-18 out of 70 students 16 students scored above 90%.

Peenaz Shaikh tops the charts with 97.20% would like to mention here specially that Peenaz had not attended any private tuitions this year.

Second rank is bagged by Arnav Kamat with 96.40% and the third rankers is Arya Kharote with 96%. Chinmay Karandikar scored 100 out of 100 in Sanskrit and Peenaz S scored 100 out of 100 in Maths.

“The quality of year thinking, determines the quality of your mind”. Participation in the other exams itself is the biggest competition where a student completes to outshine others.

Talking about other exams, Homibhabha young scientist exam was conducted for students of std 6th and 9th. Total 8 students appeared and successfully completed the first level of this exam.

156 students from class 1 to 9 participated in National English Olympiad Exam securing 10 Gold, 8 silver and bronze medals at Zonal levels.

147 students from class 2 to 9 participated in National science Olympiad exam securing 8G, 8S and 8B. 248 students from class 2 to 9 participated in International Mathematics exam securing 8G, 8S and 8B.

Overall more than 20 students were qualified for 2nd level exams of SOF foundation.

The school also conducted Akash National Talent Hunt Exam for 8th, 9th and 10th.

In the Elementary and Intermediate grade drawing exams students have passed out with flying colours. In Elementary grade exams, 3 students Harshavardhan Kavthekar, Hirkani powar and Uthkarsha Shekhar have bagged A grade.

6 Students had appeared for Intermediate grade exams and have passed with B grade.

            The Art and Drawing team had put up on Art exhibition at Shahu Smarak in the month of October. Madhubani Paintings, doodling, lanterns, quilling articles, tea coasters etc. were made by the children and were put up for sale.

            The Art and Drawing team had also put up a Diwali mela where a number of articles like lanterns, earthern lamps, greeting cards, gift boxes etc. were made by students and were sold to the parents.

            Co-curricular activities provide children opportunities to showcase their talents, House wise and poem competitions were conducted throughout the year like solo singing Sanskrit recitation, drawing, English debate, English recitation, group dance, group singing, spelling bee and ad bonanza.

            Our children have also participated in inter school competitions and have won various prizes.

            Days of National and International importance, like World Heritage Day, World Environment day, National Science day , International Yoga day, Shahu Jayanti , Shiv Jayanti etc. were celebrated to promote secularism unity, Harmony and to spread the message of peace & universal brother hood among the students.

            Scout guide : Since 2013 Chhatrapati Shahu Vidyalaya CBSE is happily and willingly conduction scout and guide training . Last year we had a special programme of Khari Kamai where students worked and earned money which they deposited in Scout and guide office.

Singing : We at CSV have always been committed to create an environment in the school which helps the young minds to blossom and provide a platform for overall dev of the student. Our 26 students had appeared for the Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya exams all of them passed with flying colours.

  • For the 1st level 14 students appeared – 3 of them secured distinction.
  • For the 2nd level Jui Gaikwad passed with distinction.
  • For the 3rd level Upekha Kamble and Vedant Bhosale passed with first class.
  • Sneha murnal, Sarthak Shah and Shambhuraje Nimbalkar Khardekar successfully completed the 4th level exam.

 

Coming to the Sports and Games section : Whole imparting academic education we also motivate students to take part in various sports events. Sports play an important role in keeping one healthy. CSV is famous not only for academic and cultural activities out also sports.

School games federation of India (SGFI) had organized National level swimming competition in Delhi, In the under 17 swimming competitions Vyankatesh Patil from std 10th secured 4th place, He bagged 3rd place in the CBSE clusters.

In under 14 state level SGFI swimming competition held at Nagpur our student Parth Kate, Jay Shah and Kanam Ingale  secured 1st place. They represented our school at the clusters and zonal level swimming competition held in Karnataka.

In lawn tennis under 14 boys categoty Ankit Bhateja and Prathmesh Patil from std 8th had participated in SGFI State level tournaments. In under 12 girls category Aishwarya Jadhav and Shreya Deshpande won the State level association matches.

In chess under 14 Jui chorge participated the SGFI chess competition which took place at Mumbai and secured 7th place.

In Cycling our student PrithvirajShahapure won bronze medal in the cycling Competition conducted by SGFI.

            In Rifle Shooting our student VirajPatil in the CBSE Cluster matches held at Telangana and he got selected for the Nationals which were held at Punjab.

            In Skating under 14 category YashrajPatil won bronze at the State level Competition held at Nandurbar. He successfully participated at the clusters zonal level held at Raigad.

            A new game was introduced this year by SGFI-Soft tennis and our student Shishail Shreshti participated in the National games which were held at Devas M.P.

            In Vushu CSV student from std 9th had participated in the SGFI games held at Jalna.

            CSV is famous for producing doctors, army men, Civil Engineers, Entertainers, Teachers etc. one more category added to this existing list is of writers. Yes, Parth Desai a CSV student from std 8 is our new budding writer. He wrote his first book Aratos & published it. Dr. Shri. Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj was personally present for this event & he himself purchased the first copy of his book.

The Tara commando Force is an independent unit of our school founded by respected Maharaj, in the year 1998. This is Maharaj’s dream project to impart military training to the girls in the school to make them bold enough to take calculated risks in life and to achieve their goals.

            This year the enrollment was done in the month of April. The selection had a series of tests which included activities such as running, cycling, broad jump, skipping, interview and written exam.

            In August a three day camp was held at Sontali, commandos were given basic knowledge about TCF camps, adventure activities. A trek was arranged from Kushire to Jyotiba. Commandos were also given a glimpse of the latest technology by which cattle rearing is done at Maharaja’s own farm. A lecture on maharani Tararani was conducted by a well known historian Dr Jaisingharao Pawar.

            On the occasion of Rakshabandhan rakhis were sent to the Jawans at the border from the TCF commandos. A guest lecture was organized in the school on career in defence services conducted by Csvian Colonel Vyas Tendulkar

A 4 day camp was held in Raigad, where in commandos visited various places on the fort end a formal program was conducted to salute Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

Every year our TCF commandos attend the republic Day Parade at Shahu Stadium.

A six days camp was held in May at malvan Radhanagari, where in the commandos did water sport activities & Adventure activities. The TCF unit gets ample grants through the school to carry out all the above activities

Report of NCC

“Development of leadership charter and spirit of social service is the aim of NCC”. Under the visionary guidance of our Dr. Shri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, NCC is flourishing and reaching the heights.

Our cadets continued the legacy of success by participating in various camps like combined Annual Training camp. Thal Sena camp & Shivaji Trail Trek.

            This year our 10 cadets were enrolled by 2 MAH BN NAVAL NCC, Ratnagiri.

            Our cadets attended CATC 303 camp successfully. Among them Saee Patil was awarded as “Best Girl Cadet Award” in that camp.

Apart from various camps drill and parade. NCC also plays a vital role in social awareness in the society. Our cadets attended various rallies and activities conducted by our school, among them are Swatch Bharat Abhiyan, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Rally, Tree Plantation at NCC Bhavan.

            On account of Gandhi Jayanti our cadets cleaned historical Bhawani Mandap with the help of Kolhapur Municipal Corporation.

            From this year, our school have started a crash course for cadets those who are willing to appear SPI entrance (Service Preparatory Institution, Aurangabad) our 22 cadets attended this exam.

            All this is possible due to the strong support of Dr. Shri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj and of course our hardworking NCC instructors.

The annual report showcase the achievements and glories of our school undoubtedly, but also makes us think deeply about our shortcomings. We have always been committed to create an environment in the school which helps the young minds to blossom and provide a platform for individual thinking and holistic development of the child’s personality.
